The Chroniclers

All stories live here, even the ones time tried to forget.”

Meet the Chroniclers

In the hidden halls of the Library, the Chroniclers keep their vigil. Bound by curiosity and the ancient pact of story, they preserve the voices of the living and the echoes of the dead. Their craft bridges worlds — from the haunted legends whispered in The Chronicle of Fear, to the battle-scarred annals of The Captain’s War Chronicles, to the dark reflections of The Captain’s Cellar, and the untamed depths explored in The Waterline Chronicles.

Each Chronicler bears a different light, flickering against the dark — historian, dreamer, seeker, scribe. Together, they guard humanity’s greatest inheritance: the stories that refuse to die. For within these pages, the past breathes, the future listens, and the Library remembers all.

Cliff "The Captain" Ryan

In the Library’s grand design, The Captain stands as both craftsman and chronicler — a man who forges truth from metal and meaning from memory. A veteran aircraft mechanic and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Cliff Ryan spent decades in the disciplined realm of aviation maintenance, where precision keeps men alive and machines aloft. That same discipline fuels his pursuit of history’s deeper currents, where the echoes of battle and the weight of consequence take form in story.

As creator of The Captain’s War Chronicles, he walks the smoke-stained corridors of war and strategy, drawing lessons from the past that still command relevance today. Alongside Rebecca “Madam Chronicler” Ryan, he co-creates The Chronicle of Fear and The Waterline Chronicles, charting the haunted and the untamed edges of human experience. In The Captain’s Cellar, he turns reflection into ritual — a space where conversation, craft, and curiosity converge.

Through these works, The Captain anchors The Chronicler Library itself: a universe dedicated to uncovering truth in story, humanity in history, and wonder in every pursuit of knowledge.

"He travels the long road of memory, carrying the light so others may see."

Rebecca "Madam Chronicler" Ryan

Where the tide meets the threshold of the Library, Madam Chronicler keeps her watch. A U.S. Navy Veteran, researcher, and storyteller, Rebecca Ryan carries the discipline of service and the hunger of discovery — traits forged on flight decks and tempered by the endless horizon of the sea. Her curiosity is a compass, guiding her through myth and memory alike, always searching for the hidden truth beneath the waves of story.

Co-creator of The Chronicle of Fear and The Waterline Chronicles, she wades through folklore’s shifting currents, where the human and the elemental intertwine. As lead researcher and contributor for The Captain’s War Chronicles and The Captain’s Cellar, she lends precision to chaos — pairing the scholar’s eye with the poet’s intuition.

Her work within The Chronicler Library is both anchor and lantern: a testament to service, empathy, and the relentless pursuit of understanding. Through her pen, history breathes, the sea remembers, and the stories that bind us all find their voice once more.

"Between the tide and the tale, every truth is waiting to be found."
